Are permanent cosmetics a form of tattooing?
Permanent cosmetic enhancements - also known as semi permanent make up and micro-pigmentation - are an advanced form of tattooing. However pigments are not infused as deeply into the skin, and therefore the enhancement will not have the longevity of a traditional tattoo.
Are the procedures safe?
A code of practice is followed that ensures a safe treatment. Lorraine works only with hypoallergenic pigments that meet European medical standards and performs an allergy test before the treatment commences. In addition, the highest quality sterile needles are used, which are disposed of immediately after the treatment is completed. The clinical environment ensures that protective coverings, (which are also disposed of at the end of each treatment) cover all equipment.
Will it hurt?
Some people feel no pain at all and some feel slight discomfort. Effective numbing agents are used to minimise tenderness. The discomfort felt can be likened to the feeling associated with tweezing eyebrows.
How long will my look last?
After the initial procedure you are invited back after 4-6 weeks for a second procedure (if necessary) where the work is re-seen and tweaks can be made to ensure that the desired result is to the highest standard. Permanent cosmetic enhancements can last for many years dependent on many variables; softer, neutral enhancements tend to fade faster. Due to the skins natural exfoliating process and the skin depth of the procedure, the colour does fade over time and it is recommended that you return on an annual basis to maintain the intensity of the treatment and keep it looking fresh.
What will I look like immediately after my procedure?
The colour will appear a darker shade than the desired result for approximately 1 week after the procedure, and mild redness and swelling may be apparent for the first few days.
What about aftercare?
You will be given a comprehensive after care guide after the treatment, along with verbal instructions and after-care products.
Do Nouveau Lashes damage the natural lash?
No. Nouveau Lashes do not damage the natural lashes unless incorrect after care takes place. The natural lash will not be damaged unless they are pulled out deliberately with the Nouveau Lashes attached to them.
Is the application painful?
Nouveau Lashes application is not at all painful; in fact it is considered one of the most relaxing beauty treatments available today. You are required to lay down with your eyes shut for approx 90 minutes, when you open your eyes you will have long, naturally curved, beautiful lashes.
Are lash extensions suitable for everyone?
Nouveau Lashes are not suitable for everyone, especially if you are a low maintenance girl or guy with hardly any spare time, nor are Nouveau Lashes suitable for clients with no existing eyelashes.
How long will the lash procedure take?
A full application of Nouveau Lashes will take a minimum of 90 minutes, maximum 2 hours. Maintenance procedures will take around 30 minutes.
How long do the lashes last?
The average life cycle of a single natural lash is 90 days. The maximum time Nouveau Lashes last is 2 months, however it is not unusual for clients to lose a lash extension if it is placed on an ‘old’ lash.
Why do you have to have maintenance?
Some Nouveau Lash extensions will begin to fall out at the end of the 2nd week; this is why you need to have maintenance every 2-3 weeks if you want your Nouveau Lash extensions to last and retain their fabulous, full look. Lash Coating Sealant is a long life coating sealer which protects your lashes and is a must have for anyone wanting to extend the life of their lashes.
Are Lash extensions similar to hair extensions?
Nouveau Lashes can be compared to hair extensions but in the hands of an inexperienced hair extension technician you can damage your hair and your hair gets thinner. This is not the case with any lash extensions your eyelashes will not get shorter nor will they become sparse if maintained correctly.
Are Nouveau Lashes adhesives safe?
The adhesive is odourless medical grade for sensitive eyes, but the adhesive does not come into contact with the skin or the eyes. The only substance that can cause reactions is the adhesive on the medical tape. The medical tape is our second option used, to seal down the lower lashes if the anti wrinkle pads are not sufficient. These clients are normally allergic to plasters.
Does LVL lash treatment damage my lashes?
No, it doesn't harm the fine hair of your lashes. It is specifically designed and developed with the latest innovative technology that is virtually damage free and it's an easy process too.
What does the application process involve?
An LVL lashes Silicone Shield will be chosen for the shape of your eyelid and secure it as close to the lash line as possible. Then, using gel formulation, we will secure your lashes individually over the shield.
The process will take up to 15 mins depending on the thickness and length of your lashes. Once they are all secure we will apply an LVL Lashes Lifting Balm with conditioning protein making sure every lash is coated.
A volumising fix is applied after 15 mins and the eyes are covered with pads for a further 5 mins.
The Shield is then removed gently with a cotton bud and purified water, and finally a lubricating LVL Lashes Revitaliser is applied to encourage good condition and growth.
How long do the effects last?
The whole process takes around 50 minutes and will last the life of your eyelashes (approx 8 to 12 weeks).
Is it painful?
Absolutely not!
